May 24, 2011 - 35mm digital zoom Fuji X 100 vs. Canon 5D Mark II
Digital Zoom experiment. How does the sharpness of an optical zoom compare with a digital zoom. I used the Canon EOS 5D Mark II with the F 2.8 16 to 35mm zoom set at the maximum magnification. (35mm). Shot from the same position with both cameras and cropped down to around 7 x 7 inches.
The cameras were on a tripod. Aperture priority both F 8.0 ISO 200. The shutters were triggered with the self timer. Manual focus on the basket. No post processing, colours via the individual jpg settings of each camera. (camera raw on the Fuji accidentally turned off so I used the jpg for both it and the Canon. Factory settings on the Fuji no sharpening etc.)
